LP boys hoops camp June 10

La Porte High School will host its second annual boys basketball summer camp for kids ages Kindergarten through eighth grade June 10-13. The K-4 group meets from 8-9:30 a.m., followed by the 5-8 group from 10-11:30 a.m. Instructors will be members of the Slicers coaching staff and current players. Registration is $40, $35 for each additional child. The fee includes a one-of-a-kind shirt, available only to camp participants. Crown Point, Mishawaka win in LP Baseball Regional

In the Class 4A La Porte Baseball Regional, Lake Central blanked Crown Point 8-0, and Mishawaka shut out Northridge 7-0 on Saturday at Schreiber Field. Saturday night’s regional final was postponed due to the weather and will be played Monday at 6 p.m. CDT.

The Wiffle®Ball Championship sign-ups

New Carlisle Hometown Days will once again host The Wiffle®Ball Championship this summer. The 15th annual open tournament will be July 27-28. Pool play action kicks off at the New Prairie Little League complex on July 27, with all teams guaranteed at least four games. The top 48 teams qualify for July 28's Hometown Cup Playoffs, with the final four advancing to the Hometown Cup Finals at historic Migley Field in New Carlisle.

Registration is open now until July 13, or until 80 teams are entered. Entry fee is $40 per team until June 29 and $80 after. Teams consist of four or five players. The Championship features slow pitch rules with base running. Relay for Life of La Porte County golf scramble

The Relay for Life of La Porte County will host a golf scramble on June 15 at Beechwood Golf Course in La Porte. Registration is at noon with a lite lunch. A shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. and will have a four-man scramble format. Dinner is at 5:30 p.m. with team awards and a cash bar. Cost is $75 per golfer or $300 per team. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for this event.
