Associate head coach Bill Gumm has the reins of the New Prairie football program during a challenging time when schools are closed to the COVID-19 outbreak and administration works on hiring the next head coach.

Typically in mid-March, football programs across the state are running non-contact practices and conditioning programs to get ready for the grueling summer months.

Times like these are especially important for schools in New Prairie's situation that are looking for a new head coach to run the ship. It's crucial for teams to get their conditioning in order so when the summer comes around, they can focus more on learning the coach's playbook and schemes once the Aug. 1 official IHSAA practice start rolls around.
