La Porte Community School Corp. Superintendent Mark Francesconi shares some of the ongoing affairs with the local school district with members of the Rotary Club of La Porte Monday afternoon. The Rotarian touched on the school corporation’s recent fifth through eighth grade transition, the future of the former Boston Middle School building and the district’s recent purchase of 33 acres of vacant farmland during his presentation.

La PORTE — The La Porte Community School Corp. is more than halfway through a landmark school year, following the opening of La Porte Middle School and Kesling Intermediate School last fall.

Superintendent Mark Francesconi and his administration, however, are already looking at ways to smooth out some of the few rough edges from the big fifth through eighth grade student shakeup.

Anyone else thinking that using Boston for the intermediate school would have been the wise decision versus spending $millions for a new school while this new concept was in it's trial phase?
