MICHIGAN CITY — Fashion retailer H&M, Hennes and Mauritz Inc., is planning to open a new location in Michigan City, and to bring 20 more jobs to the community.
Measuring approximately 21,000 square feet, H&M’s new location at Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets is set to open in the fall of 2019. According to a press release from H&M, the company has experienced a warm welcome from customers and fans in Indiana and is happy to continue to expand its store and employee count in the state.
H&M describes itself as one of the world’s largest fashion retailers, known for offering fashion-forward apparel at affordable prices in a sustainable way.
The new H&M location is set to offer Michigan City residents a one-stop shopping destination for quality clothing for the whole family, with collections for ladies, men and teens, as well as separate “store within a store” sections for accessories. The Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets location will also carry the H&M Kids collection for newborns to 14-year-olds. The breadth and variety of H&M collections is expected to make it easier for any consumer to find fashionable products, no matter their personal style.

According to the release, H&M prides itself on its support of local economies by adding jobs with each new location. With the opening of the Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets location, H&M is expecting to add approximately 20 employees to the current, ever-expanding total of approximately 16,000 U.S. employees.
