Iseminger attends financial advisors forum

WANATAH — Kurtis E. Iseminger, Wanatah, a Modern Woodmen of America representative, has completed a five‑day educational program at Modern Woodmen’s home office in Rock Island, Illinois.

The program focused on comprehensive financial services for families and small businesses. Using a computer software program, participants studied the impact of social security benefits and inflation on financial plans. In addition, attendees learned the benefits of incorporating mutual funds and variable products, where appropriate, when evaluating financial needs and goals.

Founded in 1883, Modern Woodmen of America touches lives and secures futures. The fraternal financial services organization offers financial products and fraternal member benefits to individuals and families throughout the United States.

Cannon’s Making a Difference promotion underway

La PORTE — Cannon’s Automotive, 710 Tyler St., La Porte, has announced their 2019-20 Making a Difference promotion.

The first 200 people to take advantage can make a donation of $75 and in return they will receive four regular oil changes, one tire rotation and alignment inspection. Each purchase also gets an entry for a chance to win a 2008 Smart Car.

Cannon’s Automotive, in its tradition of supporting community causes, plans to use the funds to create a endowment at Unity Foundation of La Porte County to help worthy causes right here at home.

Big trucks coming to Lighthouse Place

MICHIGAN CITY – Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets will host its third annual Touch-A-Truck event on June 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the southeast parking lot.

Families are invited to learn more about and explore oversized vehicles and other heavy machinery from across the community. Attendees will also have an opportunity to capture photos alongside vehicles, including fire and police trucks, ambulances, rigs, wreckers and more.

The free, interactive event will also feature a car show from Great Lakers Auto Club, family-friendly entertainment including live musicians, balloon artists, face painting and crafts, and a performance by Those Funny Little People. Food trucks and local vendors will be stationed around the trucks off the intersection of Wabash and Eighth streets in Michigan City. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Dorman has joined Morgan Stanley

MISHAWAKA - Morgan Stanley has announced that Jane E. Dorman has joined the firm’s Wealth Management office in Mishawaka at 4100 Edison Lakes Pkwy, Suite 200, Mishawaka, as Assistant Vice President, Financial Advisor and CFP.

Formerly with Wells Fargo Advisors for 34 years, Dorman is a native of La Porte. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University. She lives in La Porte with her husband, Randy Dorman.
