Worship at The Presbyterian Church of La Porte
A special worship service on Sunday at 10 a.m. will feature a Children’s Christmas play, part of the Advent season, at The Presbyterian Church of La Porte, 307 Kingsbury Ave. It will be a combined service of the two worship services usually offered.
Everyone is also welcome to attend Advent worship Dec. 22 at the regularly offered contemporary service at 9 a.m. and the traditional service at 11 a.m.

First United Methodist announces services
First United Methodist Church, 1225 Michigan Ave., La Porte, offers three services.
Service times are 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

‘Christian Science’ sermon set for Sunday
The First Church of Christ, Scientist, 510 E. Coolspring Ave., Michigan City, warmly invites all to their Sunday Church and Sunday School Services held at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Are you in need of a healing? Come and learn how a better understanding of God, Christ Jesus and the study of Christian Science is able to help heal you of your problems. Hymns of Praise, the Bible Lesson, The Lord’s Prayer, a Vocal Solo and other activity will be presented.
Testimonies of Healing are also given at the public Wednesday evening meeting held at 7:30 p.m.

Trinity announces Christmas services, December events
Trinity Lutheran Church, 907 Michigan Ave., La Porte, has announced services for the Christmas season.
An advent service will be held Dec. 18 at 6:45 p.m.
Their Candlelight service will be held Dec. 22 at 5 p.m. with a potluck dinner to follow. The Christmas Eve service will be held Dec. 24 at 5 p.m.
Trinity Lutheran Church will be participating in the 19th Annual Christmas Candlelight Tour presented by People Engaged in Preservation. The event will be held Dec. 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Dec. 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $20 per person from P.E.P. or cal (219) 363-2094 or (219) 363-7485. ‘SoulCore’ offered at Queens
The Health & Wellness Ministry at Queen of All Saints and St. Mary’s have announced that the next session of SoulCore: A Movement to Nourish Body, Mind, & Soul through the beauty of the Rosary is Dec. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Legacy Center, rooms 4-5-6.

Cantata planned for Mill Creek Baptist Church
Mill Creek Baptist Church Choir will present their Christmas Cantata “And on Earth Peace” on Dec. 22 at 10 a.m.
The cantata, created by Randy Vade, Jay Rouse and Rose Aspinall, will allow you to feel the beautiful spirit of Christmas.

Queen of All Saints to present Christmas Cantata
Queen of All Saints Adult Contemporary Choir, directed by Stephanie Sobecki, will present a Christmas Cantata, Sing With The Angels, at Queen Of All Saints Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, on Dec. 22 at 2:30 p.m.
All are welcome to the free Cantata which re-tells the Christmas story from the vantage point of the angels from Gabriel's first appearance to Zacharias, to the glorious scene of angels filling the heavens singing Gloria In Excelsis Deo!
The program will end with the congregation joining the singing of "Angels We Have Heard On High" and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing."

St. John's Thrift Shop, 303 A St., La Porte has Christmas decorations of all sorts!
You can find ornaments, dishes, wreaths, lights and some trees or tree stands. There are lots of winter coats, scarves and gloves for men, women and children. The shop has a nice selection of pictures and mirrors, recliners, baby pack n' play, toys, puzzles with new items added each week.

Caregivers need care too
Nourish for Caregivers is a Catholic support group for anyone juggling the challenges of life, health, career and caring for an aging or ailing spouse, parent, child or grandchild at home, in town or at a distance. It aims to support caregivers in finding peace, comfort and joy in their caregiving journey.
The support group meets the second Wednesday of the month at St. Peter Rectory, 1104 Monroe St., La Porte, at 6:30 p.m. Each meeting includes a timely topic, participant handouts, discussion and prayer. There is no cost to the program.

Grief Support at the New Church
Rev. Kit Billings offers his compassionate and supportive presence by “Healing through Grief,” a time for anyone who is experiencing the deep pain of losing a loved one, whether recent or past. Whatever your religious background or current beliefs, you are welcome. You will be heard, honored and supported. Deep sadness from grief is universal and, as a Board Certified Chaplain, Rev. Billings understands the depths of suffering that can ensue and consume us.

The Westville United Methodist Church Resale Shop, which is located at 365 W. Main St. in downtown Westville, has gently worn women’s, girls, men’s, boys and baby clothes, as well as linens, nightwear, utensils, household goods, curios and many other items including shoes and boots.
The store is restocked every week.
Hours are from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
