Bowl for the Cure a huge success

The 15th annual Bowl for the Cure was held Feb. 27 at Lakeshore Lanes. The Michigan City Women's Bowling Assoc. and the Bowl For The Cure Committee would like to thank everyone who participated, volunteered and made donations.

We had 108 bowlers this year. With the pledges they all raised and donations from some of our local businesses and individuals we were able to raise more than $10,000.00. The money will be equally divided and donated to the Women's Centers at IU Health La Porte and Franciscan St. Anthony Health hospitals. The hospitals have done really good work with our donations over the years and we are confident that this year will be no different.

We would like to thank L&R Body Shop, Devries Tire Co., The Bould Family, Douglas Weber DDS, Laporte Savings Bank, Dolson Ins. Agency, Meijer, Valerie Haughtington DDS, Lynn Klemz, Mike and Debbie Dill, Peters & Marske and NIPSCO for their monetary donations.

We would also like to thank Four Winds Casino, Pacmans Pizzeria, Lakeshore Foods, Jimmy John's, Dunkin' Donuts, Chris's Car Care Inc., Little Chocolates, T-Berry Sandwiches, McDonalds (Pine Lake Ave.), Thunderbird Lanes, City Lanes, Lakeshore Lanes, Trisha Basich, George Wedow, Kabelins Ace Hardware, Trail Creek Liquors, Root Funeral Home, Chicago S. Shore and S. Bend Railroad, MK Totes and St. Joseph Health System for their gift certificates and door awards and thank you also to all of the individuals who donated door award prizes to us.

A huge thank you to Dave Backstrom for once again donating the use of Lakeshore Lanes and to his staff for all of their help. Dave not only donated the bowling alley but he also made a monetary donation and donated a nice door award.

You all helped to make Bowl For The Cure another great success this year and we all appreciate your generosity and support!
