MICHIGAN CITY — On June 7 from 5 to 8 p.m., Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) will host the sixth annual LOK Young Artists’ Expo in partnership with the Lindsey O’Brien Kesling (LOK) Wishing Tree Foundation.

LCA is a non-profit art center located at 101 W. 2nd St. in Michigan City.

The LOK Young Artists’ Expo (LOK YAE) is a free, family-friendly showcase of talented youth from around the region. Attendees can browse an exhibition of student artwork, which will remain on display in the NIPSCO Art Education Studios through July 13th. These pieces are selected through individual portfolio reviews.

Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available throughout the event. The evening’s program will begin at 6 p.m. This year’s agenda includes a presentation of LCA’s Teen Arts Council and performances by South Shore Dance Alliance, another longtime partner of the LOK Wishing Tree Foundation. Second City of Chicago graduate Timmy Barron will return for a second year of entertaining the crowd with his comedy.

The LOK YAE is made possible by an ongoing collaboration between LCA and the LOK Wishing Tree Foundation. LCA works to ensure that everyone in our community receives equal access to outstanding cultural experiences.

The LOK Wishing Tree Foundation is a “living legacy to Lindsey O’Brien Kesling.” Its mission is to support young people in achieving their highest potential, unleashing their talents and acting upon their dreams through a wide variety of creative and performing arts opportunities.

“I feel immense joy celebrating these vibrant young talents and a deep honor witnessing the hard work of our partner educators,” said Dot Kesling, the organization’s co-founder. “Each student is noticed, nurtured and loved.”

Additional sponsorship for LCA’s First Friday programming is provided by 95.1 FM/AM 1420 WIMS and 102.5 FM/AM 1060 WHFB.
