All registrations and questions go through Red Mill, our administrative office. All registrations must be at least one week in advance. If you are interested in a program, avoid disappointment and sign up right away as most programs require a minimum number of participants. So, failure to sign up early may mean your program may be cancelled.

Kids Fishing Fun Day

June 1 at Luhr – FREE for all ages

9 to 11 a.m.

Calling all Kids children must be accompanied by an adult.  Join in the fun for a morning of catch-and-release fishing at Luhr Park Pond. A limited amount of bait and poles will be available during the program. This event is co-sponsored by the Northwest Indiana Steelheaders. No pre-registration required. FREE

Family Fishing Nights

Come out to the Pond at Luhr Park for an evening of fishing. A limited number of poles and bait will be provided. No fishing licenses are required during the family fishing program. Nature’s Tiny Tots

Come explore nature with toddlers and preschoolers in our Nature Center. Designed for parents and grandparents to bring out the munchkins for some fun. Enjoy music, dance with your kids, giggle, storytelling, take a hike (weather permitting) and just have plain old fun.

Come to the nature center in your PJs and bring your favorite stuffed animal. We will have story time, snacks and fun. Geared towards kid's ages 2 - to 11-years-old. Joyful Movement

Shake, Rattle and Move is perfect for all ages and abilities. Join us for a low-impact mindfulness, while stretching, meditation, and heart pumping and balance fun. Whatever level you feel comfortable, sit or stand with this safe, easy to perform, self-paced program will improve your flexibility, balance, strength and stamina. Come out and enjoy the warm sunshine, quite nature and view wildlife along the way.

Tree Identification Hike For beginners

Learn how to use a tree identification chart and go on a hike with Hemlock Heather. The program is geared toward beginners. The hikes are free but pre-registration is required.

Teachers-Groups-Scout Leaders

Free Environmental Education Programs are offered to groups throughout the year.

The programs last one hour or longer depending on the group size and age. Programs can be scheduled at Creek Ridge Park, Luhr Park, Bluhm Park or Red Mill Park. Call for more information and to make your reservations today.
