MICHIGAN CITY — Canterbury Summer Theatre, one of the Midwest’s oldest professional summer companies, has set its 2019 Season Kickoff Show for July 9, beginning at 4 p.m., at the theatre, located at 807 Franklin St., Michigan City.
The season productions, which include Constellations, The Queen Bees, Vanities: The Musical, John & Jen, and Hold Me! will be formally presented, and the Canterbury Resident Company, which draws from talent throughout the country, will be introduced, and perform a program of musical numbers.
Also, recent improvements to the theatre lighting, sound and curtain systems, provided through a generous donation by Canterbury alumni, Art Thomas, will be highlighted.
Attendees will enjoy a light meal before the performance, and have the opportunity to meet with the Resident Company, as well as the Canterbury Guild board of directors and Guild members.
Admission to the Kickoff Show is free, but reservations are encouraged by calling (219) 874-4269 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
The 2019 season will open on June 12, with weekly performances through Aug. 3.
